The Vostro 15 3530 at $886 posts a sheet nearly identical to its 3430 sibling — the same U300-plus-MX550 formula, the same 49.14 graphics score, the same 16GB ceiling — in a 15-inch frame and one year newer. The value column does the arithmetic the badge does not: 28.9, low-tier, for a repeat configuration at a higher ask.

Where it holds up

The MX550's 49.14 remains the anchor: top-quarter graphics for the business class with receipts — Overwatch clears recommended, Grand Theft Auto V clears recommended, and Far Cry 5 posts a measured 45 frames per second at minimum settings. Reliability at 59 tops the class quarter at 39 percent above median. Portability at 51.10 mid-tier is unremarkable, and the newer generation carries the family's durable-chassis tradition forward.

Where it falls short

The 16GB memory ceiling is the stated weakness — 60 percent below the class median, comfort-tier, the first wall every workload hits. The low band holds modeling 31, engineering CAD 31, photo design 30 and value 28.9. The U300 is entry silicon by design; the 15-inch frame adds mass without adding capability. At $886 this is the same machine as the $886 3430 in a bigger box — and the value column has already said what that is worth.
