HP OmniBook 7 Flip 16 (2025) Review: The Convertible with the Empty Graphics Column

The OmniBook 7 Flip 16 is HP's 2025 premium convertible: an Intel Core Ultra 5 226V with Arc 130V graphics and 32 GB of memory at $1,275. The processor side of the sheet is genuinely strong for the class; the graphics side is a blank, and this review has to be careful about what a blank does and does not mean.

Where it holds up

Processor performance scores 83.94 — 40.8 percent above the convertible-class median of 59.6, in the high band and top quartile — and reliability reads 86, a 75.5 percent margin over the class. Office work holds 72.91 in the high band, overall performance sits mid at 45.36, and value at 45.3 is mid-band, respectable for a premium convertible. The 16-inch flip chassis adds the tablet and tent modes the format promises, backed by a durability reading near the top of the category.

Where it falls short

The graphics score column reads zero, and that zero is a coverage gap rather than a measured zero — the panel has no matched score for the Arc 130V stack. The task axes that are measured point down uniformly: gaming at 19, modeling at 17, engineering CAD at 22 and photo design at 24, all in the low band. Portability at 43 is mid — the cost of a 16-inch convertible — so the machine's honest profile is a pen-and-documents tool with an unscored GPU.

Price and depreciation

At $1,275 the Flip 16 prices with the premium convertible tier. The modeled depreciation curve runs at 15 percent per year — steep for a non-workstation — and no listing anchor is available for dollar projections.

Alternatives to consider

The OmniBook X Flip 14 (2025) at the same $1,275 carries the identical 226V and Arc 130V platform in a 14-inch frame with portability of 71.9 against 43 here, and an 88 reliability reading against 86 — strictly the better carry. The OmniBook 5 Flip 14 (2025), also $1,275, offers the large 68 Wh battery but a weaker 75.15 processor score and 24 GB of memory. Buyers wanting GPU-backed capability in a convertible should look at the OmniBook X Flip 14 (2026) at $1,500 with the 4-core Xe3: gaming jumps from 19 to 75 for $225 more.

Bottom line

Fairly priced for the class. The OmniBook 7 Flip 16 is a processor-strong, reliability-strong big convertible whose unscored graphics and low GPU-fed axes make it a documents machine — elegant, but not an all-rounder.
